TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Japan will hold another ticket lottery for the 2020 Olympics in August.
The Japanese people are very interested in the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympics. Earlier this year, Japan held a lottery for Tokyo 2020 tickets. Around 7.5 million Japanese residents entered the lottery. Very few tickets were handed out which left millions disappointed.
To remedy this problem, OlympicBettingOdds.com has learned that Japan is holding another lottery in August. The millions who lost the first lottery will be registered for the second one. Organizers will limit online registrations for the second lottery because of online connectivity issues.
Afterward, availability for tickets is only available at ticket booths all over Tokyo. Sales will happen on a first come, first served basis. Once those tickets are gone, no more will be available. This will likely remain true because scalping was made illegal in Japan. Violators could end up in jail for a year or face a 1 million yen fine (about $9,200).
What About The Rest Of The World?
Authorized ticket resellers (ATRs) are how people outside of Japan will get their Tokyo 2020 tickets. These ATRs will begin live ticket sales on July 9. About 3.3 million of the tickets available are going to be for international sales.
The price of the tickets is going to be expensive. The closing ceremony tickets are expected to range between $110 and $2,760. Finals tickets for high-profile games such as judo and swimming are going to be just as pricey. US Olympic fans will have to act fast on July 9 or risk missing out going to the 2020 Olympics.
